The government has planned a series of celebrations to mark the 60th founding anniversary of the People's Republic of China which falls on Oct. 1, including a military parade and gala performance in Tian'anmen Square.
  This year's National Day holiday is set for Oct. 1-8, one day longer than previous years because it coincides with the Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the mooncake festival, which falls on Oct. 3 this year. (pic from internet)
